British Board of Agrément (BBA)
The BBA is a third party approvals organisation partnered with the Government. Its main role is to evaluate construction products for which no British Standard is normally available and give an opinion on the performance of the products, through Agrément Certificates, nowadays increasingly referred to as BBA Certificates.
These certificates contain information on the compliance of products with Building Regulations throughout the UK as well as details of their performance in key areas including durability. Assessment involves three distinct areas - laboratory testing (carried out to UKAS requirements), site inspections, undertaken by the BBA's own Inspection Services team, and factory production control. All Celcon products are BBA approved.

National Building Specification (NBS)
NBS Plus is a library of building product manufacturer details linked to clause guidance in the National Building Specification (NBS) software.NBS Plus aims to improve proprietary specification practice for both specifiers and manufacturers. Manufacturers submit their product details and technical guidance to NBS for restructuring in NBS format. This ensures that specifiers have the product information they need at the time they need it - when completing the specification.
Specification guides
These are produced by manufacturers to facilitate the specification of their products in NBS. A license must be obtained from NBS Services prior to publication, which requires model specifications to be compatible with the corresponding NBS work section.Specification Guides contain a set of ‘proprietary’ clauses – edited versions of generic NBS clauses, and new clauses written by the product manufacturer. To specify the product, some or all of these clauses are incorporated in the corresponding NBS work section. It is not possible to produce a project specification by using the clauses from the Specification Guide in isolation – generic clauses must also be used. The specification clauses below have been produced for Celcon products to be used with the NBS Specification Writer and NBS Plus systems.

Introduction to Eurocode 6
The introduction of European standards to UK construction is a significant event. The ten design standards, known as the Eurocodes, will affect all design and construction activities as current British standards for design are due to bewithdrawn in March 2010.This publication is part of a series of three guides entitled How to design masonry structures using Eurocode 6. The aim is to make the transition to Eurocode 6, Design of masonry structures as easy as possible by drawing together in one place key information and commentary required for the design of typical masonry elements. The Concrete Centre and the Modern Masonry Alliance recognised that effective guidance is required to ensure that the UK design profession is able to use Eurocode 6 quickly, effectively, efficiently and with confidence. Below is the first document in the series, produced by the Concrete Centre, which outlines how to design masonry structures using Eurocode 6.
