Aircrete was conceived as an environmentally friendly product and its manufacture and application continues to be kind to the planet.

From the beginning, H+H UK has vigorously pursued and maintained the highest environmental standards. That commitment led to us being the first manufacturer of pre-cast building products to be officially certified with the Carbon Trust Standard, after taking action on climate change to reduce our carbon footprint.

In 2008 H+H became the first manufacturer in the industry to achieve certification to the Carbon Trust Standard, for demonstrating year-on-year reductions in the company's carbon footprint. 

H+H UK operates a certified Environmental Management Systems (EMS) complying with ISO 14001 at all manufacturing sites. H+H was one of the first manufacturers in the construction industry to achieve BSI accreditation for its Integrated Management System, which pulls together three individual management systems for environment (ISO 14001), quality (ISO 9001) and health and safety (OHSAS 18001).The EMS is a key part of the Integrated Management System (IMS) which combines quality control and Health and Safety policies.

This means that environmental targets are under constant review and that, wherever possible, all raw materials are also produced under schemes certified in compliance with ISO 14001 or similar.

In September 2009 H+H were awarded VERY GOOD for all products under the BES6001:2008 Responsible Sourcing initiative from the BRE, being the first company to be awarded Very Good on all sites and for all products.

From creation to construction, every environmental aspect of our manufacturing and delivery processes has been enhanced. Our integrated management systems conform to the highest international standards, while our packaging and transportation achieves maximum levels of energy efficiency, conservation and environmental performance.

By providing outstanding thermal insulation, Aircrete products add sustainable credentials to any project. In fact, Aircrete constructions can achieve the highest rating in the Green Guide to Housing achieving 'A' ratings as declared by the Building Research Establishment's (BRE) Green Guide to Specification.

In May 2010 once again H+H UK was awarded a place in The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards. This is the third year running that H+H UK have been placed; 2008 at a strong 32nd, 2009 an even better 29th and for 2010 an astounding 9th!

In January 2011 H+H UK became one of the first manufacturers in the UK to be awarded BSEN 16001 – the latest European standard to focus specifically on energy efficiency and also the British Standards Institute Energy Reduction Validation (ERV) Kitemark scheme for demonstrating reductions in carbon emissions.

For all that we've achieved, we're not content to rest on our laurels. Our commitment to the future means H+H UK leads the field in the research and development of aircrete products and will continue to do so into the future.
