Is the UK housebuilding sector ready for a drastic change? Reforms to delivery and ownership models will likely decrease volatility and a cross-party consensus on the need to increase housebuilding must surely provide confidence in the long-term outlook for the sector.
The most recent MARKIT PMI survey of purchasing managers suggests a softening of confidence in the construction sector. However, my personal view is that if there is any area for confidence in the current volatile political environment, it’s the provision of new housing.
