The Role:

Reporting to the Distribution Manager, you will assist in the loading, unloading and storage of finished goods, stores items and raw materials.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Receive and store raw materials and inventory items from vehicles.

  • Place goods in the designated area of the yard as instructed, keeping the area tidy and organised.

  • Use Forklift / clamp truck to load and unload different types of Articulated vehicles, following the loading and unloading procedures and safety guidelines.

  • Operate plant safely according to your training and perform daily maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels, tyre pressures, battery charge, etc.

  • Check product quality and report any issues to manager, such as defects, damages, or deviations from specifications.

  • Follow all health, safety and environmental rules, wear appropriate protective equipment and reporting any hazards or incidents.

  • Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the company, such as cleaning, sorting, packing, etc.  The duties in this job description may change over time and the job-holder is expected to cooperate when such changes are reasonable, showing flexibility and adaptability.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • B1 Licence is essential, B2 Licence is preferable (Inhouse training will be provided for the right candidate)

  • Good secondary education

  • Some experience in yard storage

  • Forklift truck driving licence

  • Valid driving licence

  • Computer proficiency is required for managing dispatch notes
