H+H offers reliability to SME housebuilder

SME housebuilder Wellington Construction knew they could depend on H+H for reliable deliveries when taking on their largest site to date.

Wellington Construction and H+H UK have had a relationship for almost 20 years, so when Wellington won their biggest project to date, they knew they could rely on H+H.

Jason Laughland, Purchasing Manager for Wellington Construction, praised the service and communication of H+H: “We have a great rapport with H+H and knew that partnering with them to commit to a long-term delivery schedule would make this a much more seamless job. We have excellent external support from H+H and know that we can trust in H+H’s commitment to service.”

The Great Ellingham site consists of 95 units set within a picturesque field with fantastic views over the Norfolk countryside. From a construction perspective, it is close to the A11 meaning easy access for transport and sub-contractors, making delivery of H+H’s Celcon blocks very simple.

Furthermore, Wellington’s close relationship with H+H has enabled them to notify H+H as and when they need more Celcon Blocks and H+H arrange direct to site deliveries, allowing for more material to be delivered per load.

H+H Celcon Plus Blocks have been used to increase build speed as they are lighter and easier to handle on site than standard concrete blocks, while offering all the benefits of masonry construction.

The blocks have been used on all cavity and party walls, using the robust details as the guidance for each application and the site has been constructed using traditional mortar joints.

Jason continued by elaborating on why Wellington Construction favour H+H and aircrete: “We use H+H Celcon Blocks because they tick all the boxes. Whether it’s regarding specification, delivery or simplicity of ordering through local merchants, H+H’s Celcon Blocks and external support hit the mark every time”.

Great Ellingham is a tranquil mixed tenure site, including both social support homes and private homes, ranging from 2-bed bungalows through to 5-bed semi-detached houses.
