H+H is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the ‘Independent Rising Star of the Year’ category at the Builders Merchants Journal (BMJ) Industry Awards 2019. Now in its second year, the awards will deliver several new categories which reflect the breadth of the sector. The winner will be announced on Friday 19 May at a special luncheon.
This award aims to recognise an individual working in an independent merchant chain who has the ability, drive and determination to rise to the very top. Unlike most traditional industry awards, the accolade will be voted on by the entire industry via a secure online portal rather than a selected judging panel.
Editor-in-Chief Fiona Russell-Horne said: “BMJ is the UK’s longest running industry title, serving the construction distribution supply chain for near 100 years. In that time, we’ve learned that the most important part of the any industry is the people and the brands that they promote. The aim of the BMJ Industry Awards is to reflect the massive pool of talent we have out there, celebrating the brands, names and businesses that keep the merchant sector thriving.”

A total of 13 nominees are vying for the top prize. Voting is currently open at https://www.bmjindustryawards.co.uk/vote/ and will close on Friday 22 March 2019. The winners for each category will be the entries which have received the most votes overall and will be announced at the awards ceremony on 19 May.
