Yard Foreman

Location: Borough Green, Kent

Are you ready to be a vital part of a dynamic yard operations team? We are seeking a dedicated Yard Foreman to join our team at the Borough Green plant. Your primary role is to perform general yard and housekeeping duties and accurate stock control. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s health, safety, environmental requirements and in compliance with relevant legislation.

  • Carry out general yard and housekeeping duties, load, and unload vehicles, and operate a forklift truck as directed by line manager.

  • Ensure all inbound deliveries are supervised, liaising with all third parties entering the Yard to ensure they are complaint with site rules and deliveries are conducted as required by the business.

  • Ensure all waste in managed, stored as required, and collections are arranged through your line manager as and when required.

  • Maintain the stock management in the yard, by ensuring product is sorted, and stored in the appropriate area.

  • Verify daily that the reported production numbers tally with the physical stock stacked in the yard and as entered on to the stock inventory.

  • Ensure the stock integrity through daily, weekly, monthly stock checks.  This includes all Blend Stock, Suspended Stock, and Saleable Stock.

  • Supervise the re-works team to ensure all problem stock is sorted and returned to good stock as soon as possible.

  • Ensure you have a good understanding of the main stores to cover all issues when the store man is not available, including deliveries going in to or being collected from stores and how these are logged.

  • Keep forklift trucks clean and road worthy.

  • Ensure the care and maintenance of all forklift trucks used, i.e. identify any faults or safety issues and report them immediately to the Line Manager.

  • Ensure all loads are transported safely and securely.

  • Complete the forklift truck logbooks daily.

  • Conduct accident investigations connected to Yard Operations as required.

  • Condict incident investigations connected to Yard Operations as required.

  • Maintain the highest industry standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and organisation.

  • Immediately report any shortcomings in methods, procedures, quality, safety or efficiency to the Line Manager.

  • Perform risk assessments before starting any non-routine tasks that have not been previously evaluated.

  • To ensure that all yard plant equipment (Forklifts / Trucks) have their daily checks performed and all failures are reported and actioned in accordance with H+H procedures.

  • Adhere to the company's policies, procedures, and protocols, to ensure the highest quality standards for all our products and services.
