H+H Regional Merchant Manager Matthew Compton has been nominated for ‘Best Sales Representative’ in the Builders Merchants Journal (BMJ) Industry Awards 2019, now in their second year and the award will deliver several new categories which reflect the breadth of the sector. The winner will be announced on Friday 19 May at a special luncheon.
The ‘Best Sales Representative’ award aims to recognise the sales representative who goes the 'extra mile' working for a manufacturer, wholesaler or distributor within the construction industry supplying builders', plumbers', timber or decorators' merchants. Unlike most traditional industry awards, the accolade will be voted on by the entire industry via a secure online portal rather than a selected judging panel.
Upon hearing he was nominated, Matthew said: “I was really surprised but also very happy. It’s also really good news for H+H as a company.”
Meeting customers is what drives Matthew. He said: “I don’t mind getting up early in the cold, dark mornings. Sometimes my job involves driving for hours in the rain but it’s worth it as I get to meet with lots of people from all different kinds of backgrounds every day.”
“This year, I’m really looking forward to continuing to develop my relationships with my customers and also get to know lots of new ones.”
