With over seven years of experience at H+H working both with merchants and housebuilders, Matthew is well placed to provide the service and advice private housebuilders need throughout the construction process.
In his role, he offers customers all-round support, maintaining excellent communication and being reactive to issues that may arise. Matthew meets with housebuilders regularly to discuss anything from the beginning of a new site to the implications of building regulation change. He can also be found on site, reviewing logistics and assessing site access to ensure the smooth delivery of Celcon Block orders.
Matthew offers product advice and keeps housebuilders informed about product availability. He thrives on providing an excellent customer experience. “I thoroughly enjoy working with our customers to get them the best value for the best solution,” says Matthew.
Having always been interested in construction, Matthew started his career in the industry with work experience doing stone masonry at Chester Cathedral. After school he sought out an apprenticeship and worked as a stone mason for five years.
Moving on, Matthew joined a groundworks company and then worked his way up at a builder’s merchant - where he also enjoyed a 12-month stint playing professional ice hockey. The opportunity then arose to join H+H and Matthew was keen to progress his career.
His earlier experiences in the industry gave him a good understanding of housebuilding which has helped him to excel at the company. After five years at H+H working as a Regional Merchant Manager, he moved into his role as Key Account Manager for Private Housebuilders.
“I jumped at the chance to work for a market leader like H+H and haven’t looked back since. There is such a wealth of industry experience here - I have learned so much and it has helped me to build on my own knowledge and provide a better experience for our customers.” he says.
Matthew looks forward to continuing his time at H+H supporting private housebuilders.
