Yard Operative

Location: Pollington, Yorkshire

Join H+H, a leader in the construction industry! We're looking for an experience Yard Operative to perform general yard and housekeeping duties, such as vehicle loading, ensuring third-party drivers comply with site rules and sorting stock appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Yard team with regular inventory counts as instructed (daily, weekly, or monthly).
  • Ensure the correct procedure for picking, loading and delivering orders, for efficient and accurate order fulfilment.
  • Maintain the stock management in the yard by ensuring product is sorted, and stored in the appropriate area.
  • Keep forklift trucks clean and roadworthy after each shift.
  • Ensure the care and maintenance of all forklift trucks used, i.e., identify any faults or safety issues and report them immediately to the Line Manager.

 

Requirements:

  • Possesses a solid secondary education
  • Recognised Health and Safety qualification, e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH or NVQ
  • Completion of a time-served apprenticeship or relevant on-the-job training in an similar role within a similar environment
  • Demonstrable Yard and Logistics experience
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Valid Forklift licence (e.g. B1 or B2) and driving licence.
