H+H TECHNICAL DIRECTOR BECOMES A DOCTOR

H+H Technical Director Cliff Fudge has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Kingston University in recognition of a 20-year collaboration with the School of Natural and Built Environments on a range of research and testing programmes.

Presenting the degree, Professor Mukesh Limbachiya observed that the outcomes of these have contributed to the introduction of sustainable building products and construction systems in the market place.

In his capacity as a committee member of various technical committees, Cliff also played a key role in the organisation of a highly successful international conference on aircrete held at Kingston which brought over 300 researchers and industrial delegates from around the world.

A Chartered Structural Engineer, Cliff is a widely recognised and acknowledged expert with a real passion for the design, production and application of innovative construction products and engineering techniques for achieving sustainability within the Built Environment.

Throughout a 30-year career at H+H, Cliff has also served on a number of high-profile technical committees, including: the British Standard Institution, European Committee for Standardisation, UK Government’s Building Regulations Advisory group and the National House Building Council – to name a few.

Professor Limbachiya noted particularly Cliff’s support in promoting the value of university and industry collaboration and its importance in meeting the challenges faced by the construction industry on a daily basis.

Cliff continues to focus on product innovation at H+H with an undimmed and infectious enthusiasm for his subject.
